The National Interest reporting – China faces significant challenges in developing advanced Radar Absorbent Material (RAM) technology, which is crucial for effective stealth capabilities in military aircraft. According to expert analysis, while creating a stealthy-looking shape is relatively straightforward, the true difficulty lies in the materials science required to produce RAM that can absorb or scatter radar waves.

China has reportedly struggled with this aspect, as reverse-engineering advanced RAM materials proves difficult despite having access to such technology. This challenge is likened to China’s earlier difficulties in developing the WS-15 jet engine, where advancements in material science were necessary for progress. Until China masters RAM technology, its stealth fighters are expected to remain outmatched by aircraft like the U.S. F-35.

The F-35 fighter jet represents a pinnacle of modern military aviation, incorporating advanced avionics, sensor fusion, and electronic warfare capabilities. Unlike the F-22, which emphasizes maneuverability, the F-35 prioritizes stealth and situational awareness, supported by a suite of sophisticated sensors and systems such as the AN/APG-81 radar and the AN/ASQ-239 electronic warfare system.

This focus on sensor integration and network-centric warfare capabilities provides F-35 pilots with superior command and control over the battlefield, making it a formidable aircraft in terms of both offensive and defensive operations. The F-35’s advanced technology and comprehensive capabilities ensure that it remains unmatched by any other aircraft currently in production.
